Chubby little feengies! - Baby manicures

I am obsessed with these two little people's tiny and chubby fingers!! How cute are their feengies?! I could kiss them and let them be wrapped around my fingers for days! Cameron has bigger, chubbier, more boyish looking hands. Love it! And Claire has smaller and more dainty looking hands. So cute! This picture actually makes her fingers look more chubby than they are. The babies are such little face scratchers so we keep their mitts on all the time, so we don't get to just look at their little hands 24/7 like we want to. So, I trimmed and filed their nails yesterday while they were passed out from a bottle, he he. They grow insanely fast! Right now they're asleep in their swings with no mitts! Shh :) Snuck them off in the bath and didn't put on new ones. Thought they could use some airing out. Snapped some pictures after their mini baby manicures :) Love these two sweets!!

We have leg rolls people!!

These adorable little people were so tiny when they were born, especially Claire. She got down to 4 lbs 1 oz when we left the hospital just two days after they were born. So, they didn't have much chub. Well none actually. Cameron had some adorable cheeks but Claire was so skinny. I called their cute little legs turtle legs because they had no chub on them and were tiny and kinda baggy. Their knees especially looked turtly. Well, just over two months later, we finally have some good mini chub rolls goin!! I'm so excited, chubby babies are the BEST! Claire's cheeks have really filled in as well. They both are just so adorable it hurts!! We have the most beautiful babies EVER! I think these pics need to go in their baby books, don't you?! Love their little bellies too!

Such a big boy! - Tummy time, first roll and bouncer!

Our pediatrician recommended at our latest visit that we start laying the babies on their tummies for tummy time to strengthen their necks, cores, and for them to learn to roll onto their backs. Last night Cameron was happy and wide awake awhile after his bottle, so I decided to try it out. He did so good and didn't even cry! I thought he'd throw a fit because a lot of babies hate tummy time the doctor said. He got up on his forearms like the doctor said they should, but it didn't last long because he rolled over within just a couple of minutes of being on his tummy, ha ha! And I just happened to be videoing while he did it, so fun and cute! Was awesome to be able to show Blake the video when he got home from work! Not too bad for his first tummy time! He's such an adorable little stinker and we love him to pieces. Claire was sleeping in the crib during all of this, ha ha. So we will see how she does. It's hard to do tummy time because I can't do it before eating because they're crying for their bottles, and after is a no go because they're full and usually fall asleep. So, I have to catch them during their awake time during the day or evenings. Sometimes it isn't much because they're still tiny and sleep a lot. So, sometimes it's difficult. Can't believe how big they've have gotten though, love these two!! Oh, and Cameron has decided that he loves the Pooh bouncer now.  Screamed bloody murder the first time I put him in it, ha ha. He was so cute and smiley. Made lots of cute noises and loved the toys that dangle down. He also likes the music and vibration. One day I will take the time to figure out how to get my videos from my phone on here! But for now, here are some pictures :)

A day of adventures! - Check up, hospital visit & stroller heaven!

Today I had my post partum appointment with Dr O. He said he was very happy to see me so happy and that most of his twin moms are crying at their post partum visit, ha ha. Funny but so sad. Exhaustion is no joke, neither is the stress of being responsible for two tiny humans at once. So, I'm glad I didn't look as tired as I feel, and that I didn't see him a month ago, lol. I was a crying mess then, ha ha. So nice to feel more normal hormone wise! He said I'm doing excellent and to keep it up. I don't need to see him again for a year. He said it will take awhile longer to totally de-puff. I was concerned that my legs and feet are still quite puffy. This water weight just doesn't want to leave me. My feet and knees hurt a lot (I HATE our stairs right now!) and I can still only wear like two pairs of my shoes and one pair of pants. Hello dresses! But he said it's totally normal. Twins, bed rest and Preeclampsia really pack on the water weight. I had all three, ha ha.

He asked me today if I was breastfeeding. I said only the first couple of weeks because my milk supply tanked because of exhaustion. He said, "Totally common, that's ok, don't worry!" Made me feel good. It has still kinda been bothering me that I couldn't. Bottles are easier as far as not needing to pump and whatnot, but nursing would have been sooo much cheaper and convenient overall. Plus I loved the bonding. Formula prices are just flat out highway robbery! It's disgusting that they charge what they do.

If I would have had more time I was going to take Dr O and his staff some goodies today, but since I'm pooped all they got was a thank you card and baby announcement. So bummed, I wanted to do something fun. I appreciate them so much though. Dr O gave me his cell number at my first appointment with him and was a big comfort to me during my pregnancy. We always had goals and that helped this stressed out and bed ridden mommy a lot. He's awesome. I always loved hearing him say, "You're still pregnant!!!" in his boomy voice at my appointments, ha ha.

The babies were a hit! Lots of people commented on how cute they were and how neat my stroller is. Seriously, it's heavenly and super handy! If you have newborn twins, or know someone who is going to, get one! It's a must. Less than $70 on amazon. Anyways, I got lots of smiles and looks today. Dr O's medical assistant, Emma, whom I absolutely love, even helped me feed the babies while we were waiting for the doctor to come in. She didn't want to give Claire back, ha ha. She said if she didn't know what kind of fertility treatment we did that she would think that both babies look just like me. She said it was definitely meant to be. So fun to hear! I made Dr O and Emma take a picture with me since the one of us with Dr O at the hospital when they were born didn't turn out great. I think this one turned out cute. So grateful for an awesome doctor and staff!! I look forward to seeing them again in a few years when we do our last embryo transfer!

We also dropped by the hospital on our way home to return some preterm labor and bed rest cds to my favorite nurse, Cindy. It was nice to be there for fun and not because of NSTs, the dreaded magnesium sulfate or preterm labor, ha ha! Sadly, Cindy wasn't working today so we couldn't say hi, but we found Pam! She works in OB Triage and would always bring out a wheelchair for me when I'd go in for my NST appointments. I was hugely pregnant and on bed rest, so it was much appreciated. She was always so nice and was excited for us today, so I asked her for a picture. Hopefully we can catch Cindy, Katie, and some of my awesome AntePartum nurses another time. This hospital has amazingggg nurses and other staff! Nurses are the ones who truly make or break your stays, and they all made mine very pleasant and fun!

The babies also got to meet Blake's co-workers today! Forgot to get some pictures though dang it. Fail. Since the babies were still sleeping from their bottles at Dr O's office, I figured we may as well stop by since we were out. They were soo good today! I hadn't met anyone at his office and no one had seen the babies in person yet. People at his office are always asking to see pictures and were happy we stopped by. We were greeted by at least ten people excited to see the babies. I'm glad I stopped by, Blake enjoyed it I think.

We even went through the bank drive-thru afterwards, it was quite the day for us! Maybe I shouldn't have done so much because I'm gonna be pooped, ha ha. Oh well, I'm already exhausted. The babies hadn't been anywhere but to doctor appointments before this because I'm a germ freak. RSV, whooping cough and hand foot and mouth have really been going around. Plus, I hadn't wrangled them by myself while out and about til today. Mostly because I've been too tired and didn't want people touching all over them, but also because I was really stressing it. But, it was much more pleasant than I thought it was going to be, I did it! So grateful for my awesome stroller and for such well behaved babies. It was a fun day out even though no one was allowed to hold the babies but Emma. Gotta keep these babies healthy, they're still small little things! We came home, ate, babies passed out again and then we watched some Jungle Book! I love that they love the tv, cause I'm a Disney movie freak!

2 months old! - Shots, baby stats & diapers galore!

I seriously don't know where the time is going!!!! Our beautiful twinnies are two months old today! We had their well checks and vaccines done at the pediatrician's this morning. Loved their little bandaids! Both babies are doing amazing and growing really well considering how tiny they were. Both were deemed perfectly healthy and don't need to return until four months. They took their shots like total champs, the nurse was impressed. She was devastated to have to give them their shots because they're so tiny still, but she was really relieved when they only cried for several seconds and were done. Both babies are now eating almost four ounces every two to four hours. Both are awake a little more everyday and dirty diapers like you wouldn't believe. Holy diapers! Like, a whole package per day. Yes...32 diapers in 24 hrs! We're keeping them on the soy formula til they're one year old. Hopefully they'll have outgrown their milk protein intolerance or allergy by then.

Cameron weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz and 20.6 inches long! When we came home from the hospital he had dropped below 5 lbs. He falls in the 10-25 percentiles for weight, height and head circumference like Claire. But, our pediatrician assured us that is very normal for twins. He has changed a ton and is such a happy boy most of the time. He loves to cuddle, look around, watch the ceiling fan and tv, have his head and feet rubbed, and has been cooing for a couple weeks now. Nothing better than the sound of cooing babies!! He smiles a lot when you talk to him and has the biggest blue eyes. His sweet little face melts our hearts! My favorite thing about him is that he makes the most hilarious and adorable goat noises when waking up. He sounds JUST like a goat, not kidding. He startled me one night and had me thinking for a split second that there was a goat in my front room, lol.

Claire weighed in at 8 lbs 5.5 oz and 20.1 inches long! She has doubled her birth weight in only two months, so great! Her face has realllly chubbed up and she's insanely cute. She has started smiling more and started cooing this past week. She likes the mobile more and more everyday, and has recently discovered that she is quite entertained by watching brother flap his arms around while he's playing next to her. She often chews on his mitts instead of her own when they're laying next to each other, he he. She is still our calm, sweet, sleepy baby girl. However, she has started crying more often and louder when she informs us she needs fed or changed. She also recently started crying tears when she's upset like Cameron, it is THE saddest thing ever. I hate it when they're sad! Tiny tears are the worst! She loves looking at Daddy and lets us kiss her more, he he. She used to limit our kisses by wacking us in the face with her hand, ha ha.

Two cuties! - I can't stop taking pictures!

I can't stop taking pictures of these two adorable little creatures!!! My phone just may explode or die, ha ha. But, who could resist?! They are the cutest babies ever born afterall, he he. See, I can say that because we've waited sooo long ;) But, it is true!

Cameron has lost more of his hair and it's turning a brownish red color. Maybe he'll match daddy's red facial hair and brown head hair! We have discovered he's not a fan of bibs (he's a messy little drinker). Claire's eyelashes just keep growing. She just may catch up to brother, his are up to his eyebrows! They both get bigger everyday and are so cute. They're starting to sleep less and are still in newborn diapers. We tried size 1 diapers last night because we were out of newborns and the 1s drowns them both. Claire has decided she really likes to coo and kick and watch the mobile in the pack and play. You can tell when she wants to lay down and play because she does a half cry, ha ha. Can't blame her, wouldn't want to be in a swing or a rock and play all the time either. Cameron loves loves loves cuddles with mommy in the glider. Sometimes it's the only thing that calms him when he's fussy. He's a blankie man too, my kinda boy! Ps...I lovvvve their little toesies!!!!

Weeks 5-7 of Parenthood!

Well I'm a little behind on weekly updates, ha ha. Imagine that! ;) The babies are keeping us busy busy busy. They're just beautiful and grow before our eyes everyday! Seriously, Claire had blonde (like fishing line blonde) eyelashes one day, and by the next they had turned brown! Her hair is coming in quite dark. And Cameron's hair has lightened! We are so grateful for these beautiful beautiful rainbow babies. Our donor couple will never ever in a million years know how much they have blessed us and how much they have healed our broken hearts!

After my baby shower back home, me and the babies stayed with my mom for an extra two weeks so that her and my sisters could help with the babies because I was suffering at home while Blake was at work. I got some much needed sleep! I seriously was on the verge of needing to be admitted to the hospital from exhaustion. Not sleeping can really cause major issues. I was literally falling over and falling asleep while doing things. Scary. So grateful to my mom and sisters for staying up late many nights with our precious bebes so that I could recover. As if my poor mother hadn't already done enough for us! I have THE best mom in the world, hands down!!  I'm so glad I was finally able to make her a Grammy :)

Here is an update on the babies and some pictures of them over the last few weeks. I have sooo many pictures on my phone but had to pick my favorites...

Claire has just blossomed the past few weeks! Especially her eyelashes, they're catching up quickly to brother's luscious lashes. While visiting my family, my dad weighed himself and then himself with each baby. They both came back at exactly 8.2 lbs! Not sure how accurate that was, but they have definitely chubbed up! Especially ClaireBear! That makes her double the weight of when we brought her home from the hospital. Not bad for only 7 weeks of growth! She looks bigger than her brother now. Crazy! She has some real chub on her legs now, her head is twice as big looking, and she is much more alert. I even got some smiles out of her chubby cheeks today. She notices the baby mobile now and will follow your face and voice. She makes the funniest noises. Our house sounds like a zoo, ha ha. She loves to stretch, sleep, grunt, blow bubbles (I finally got a picture of her blowing bubbles!), lay in her rock and play, and has recently decided she really likes her binky and swing. I love her long monkey toes, she takes after me. She has the most beautiful and petite little hands. They're so cute! Her tiny cute little pinky fingers kill us. She is the most beautiful baby girl we've ever seen! She still is very mellow and hardly cries. She has been more vocal lately though. She gives you several warning grunts and squeaks, but when she wants her baba she isn't afraid to cry now, ha ha. She's currently eating just over 3 ounces every 3 hours like brother (seemed like a lot for such tiny babies, but I read it's normal), and is now in newborn sized diapers and is starting to fill out newborn clothes. No more preemie! Some newborn clothes are even too short for her. She has some long little legs. She definitely has us all wrapped around her adorable little finger!

Cameron is hilarious! He's quite fiesty, like his Momma, ha ha. He knows what he wants and when he wants it. He makes the saddest faces when being burped (burping is usually the end of the world lately) and still hates his bum bum changed. He has however decided he likes his bath, but only if you leave his mitts on. Grammy discovered this. He likes to lay in the pack and play and watch the Pooh Bear mobile and waft his adorable little arms and legs all over the place. He is so alert it's crazy. Has been like that from day one. He's such a cutie pie and so strong. He flings his little head all over the place, you really gotta watch it when you're holding him and he's wide awake. He is also much bigger and changing everyday. His hair has started coming in much lighter. I'm so curious to see what their hair and eye colors will be! I'm betting he's dirty blonde with blue eyes. His hair has a tinge of red in it now though. Maybe his sissy will have brown hair and blue or hazel eyes? Her eyes have more grey in them than his. His are quite blue. We shall see! Cameron loves car rides, is still a major binky man, and looks at you with the funniest scowl sometimes when you talk to him. I think he's gonna be the stink eye giver of the two, ha ha. He has the cutest little thumbs and kissable squishy forehead. He lovvves to be swaddled and rocked in the rocking chair with his binky. Sometimes it's the only thing that calms him. In fact I'm doing this right now as I type, ha ha. Good thing I can multitask or else I'd never post anything. I love that he's so snuggly though! Claire has only recently decided she likes to be rocked by Momma. She used to get squirmy and want to be laid down. She lets me smother her in kisses more often now like brother, he he. Both have lost quite a bit of their hair, but his eyelashes are still superdy duperdy long. Just really light in color. This beautiful boy is our precious little piglet!

I am feeling more human these days, less hormonal but still struggling with swelling and back pain. And of course sleep, ha ha. My left foot is so swollen and my toes go numb. The top of my foot burns like crazy, looks like it's gonna pop. Can't wait to completely de-puff, my legs are still pretty swollen. I love though that my days now consist of only diaper changes galore, washing bottles, feedings and snuggles! These babies smell absolutely delicious! Parenthood is so much more challenging and rewarding than we ever imagined. We have waited so long for this and love these tiny humans more than we could ever say! Can't wait to feel 100% and be able to go do things with them! Bed rest really set me back. Most don't realize just how much. B12 is savvving my life, thanks for the recommendation Aunt Pam! Recovering from bed rest is so much worse than I thought it'd be. So grateful the babies arrived safely though, it was sooo worth it!

They looked so much alike to me today in this picture, I usually don't think they do :) Love it!
