Estradiol! - first day of treatment

Had my first appointment today, yay! Hooray for AMAZING nurses! Started the Estradiol Valtrate (estrogen) injections tonight. Grandma handled jabbing me in the rear with these giant needles like a pro, ha ha. She got to practice on rubber skin at the doctor's office today, lol. My Baseline Ultrasound (uterus) was also done today and everything looks really great! Ended our exciting "first day of treatment" with lunch at Red Robin and a trip to Wood Creations for a craft fix! Thanks Mom! :)

I love the baby binder! Oh the injections! My upper buttox felt like tenderized meat for weeks! Trying to jog was so fun! Every bounce hurt like a son of a gun!! My husband was so afraid to jab me!! Your blog brings back so many memories! Bless you and yours!!

We are Megan and Blake! We suffered from infertility for 9 years. We tried Clomid, had a failed IVF cycle in 2008, were on LDS Family Service's adoption waiting list for a year, went to a Naturopath doctor & took herbal supplements, I stood on my head and elevated my hips, rubbed pregnant bellies, purchased fertility promoting jewelry and was given a dream box, did countless diets, ate specific fertility boosting foods, read endless amounts of online self help articles, tried to "not stress and just let it happen", spent a small fortune on pregnancy and ovulation tests over the years, sent up a billion and one prayers, etc...all without luck and our hearts broken time and time again. We cried together many nights, and spent many years trying not to be bitter, full of anger, and hoping to understand why this was happening.

However, in the early fall of 2014, a heaven sent option fell into our laps when we were least expecting it...Embryo Adoption! And it all came about because of a dream that Megan had, over and over. How amazing is that?!! We thank our Heavenly Father for that push in the right direction that helped us discover and adopt our anonymous donor embryos. So grateful for these little snowflakes, and for the wonderful opportunity to experience pregnancy, birth, and parenthood! Our donor couple will never know just how much joy and happiness they have brought us, our broken hearts are healed!

ROUND #4: We received shocking news that I am pregnant on April 22nd! All natural, no fertility treatment, and outta nowhere. Total miracle after almost 15 years! Getting pregnant for free is awesome, lol! Follow our blog once again to see how things are going 😀 Thanks for all of your support and prayers, we appreciate you!

ROUND #3: Our last 2 embryos were successfully transferred on October 22nd and we got a positive pregnancy test on Nov 2nd 2020. We sadly lost the baby very early on. Our 7 week ultrasound showed no baby in the gestational sac. It was a Blighted Ovum Pregnancy. We will miss you angel baby Caelan Shay! You were very wanted and will be missed. We hope you are hanging out with angel baby Cannon in heaven! Thanks for following our Embryo Adoption Adventure, families are forever! We have had two heart breaking losses, but we have conquered infertility!! We are so very grateful for our beautiful little rainbow twins, life would be excruciating without them.

ROUND 2: Got a positive pregnancy test on October 5th 2015!! Found out on October 23rd that we were expecting fraternal TWINS!! We were so shocked and thrilled. We found out on 1/25/16 that we were getting one of each! After 3 long months of strict home, and some hospital bed rest, our little rainbow babies arrived safe and sound in May 2016. And full term to boot, such a miracle since I went into early labor twice. They're now 4 yrs old, beautiful, hilarious, smart, and the best little people in the whole world!

ROUND #1: We found out in early February 2015 that we were expecting for the FIRST TIME EVER after transferring 2 of our donor embryos via FET (frozen embryo transfer), but we sadly lost the baby at 10 weeks to a Silent Miscarriage due to subchorionic hemorrhages. Our second ultrasound revealed that the baby no longer had a heart beat. While our hearts are broken and ache for the little one we lost, we know we will always have that precious angel watching over us. Mommy and Daddy love and miss you Cannon Page!!

We thought getting our story out there couldn't hurt, might help others, and would be therapeutic for us too. Extra prayers and support never hurt anyone, right?! Fertility treatments and miscarriages are such exhausting emotional, mental and physical roller coasters. We need to stick together, never lose hope!
